Product Overview
The ABB Advance Optima AO2000 is a modular continuous gas-analysis platform for measuring concentrations of gases in process streams, exhaust emissions and industrial gas systems.
A system can combine up to four analyzer modules and measure as many as six sample components. Its modular construction allows the customer to select the appropriate measurement technology for oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, hydrocarbons, hydrogen and other gases.
The AO2000 with the Limas21 UV module is approved for selected marine NOx-emission monitoring applications under MARPOL Annex VI and the NOx Technical Code.

Marine Approval
ABB states that the AO2000 fitted with the Limas21 UV analyzer module for measuring NO, NO₂ and NOx is suitable for use aboard vessels.
The approved configuration meets applicable requirements of:
- Revised MARPOL Annex VI
- NOx Technical Code 2008
- DNV certification for the specified analyzer configuration
Marine approval applies only to the tested configuration and must be verified against the selected model and current certificate.
Marine and Offshore Applications
- Marine diesel-engine NOx monitoring
- Ship exhaust-gas analysis
- Scrubber and emissions monitoring
- Boiler combustion optimisation
- Inert-gas oxygen measurement
- LNG process-gas monitoring
- Hydrogen and fuel-gas measurement
- Offshore flare and process monitoring
- FPSO emissions measurement
- Exhaust-gas cleaning systems
- Analyzer shelters on offshore installations
- Engine test beds and research facilities
Hazardous-Area Options
Selected AO2000 configurations are available for:
- ATEX Zone 1
- ATEX Zone 2
- Class I, Division 2
- Measurement of flammable sample gases
- Purged or explosion-protected installation
Hazardous-area certification depends on the housing, analyzer module, purge system and sample-gas arrangement.
