SKF TMEH 1 Portable OilCheck Monitor for Machinery Lubricant Condition Assessment

Category:

Manufacturer: SKF
Exact Model: TMEH 1
Product Category: Lubrication and Condition Monitoring
Product Type: Portable oil-condition assessment instrument

Product Overview

The SKF TMEH 1 provides an immediate indication of machinery-oil deterioration. It compares the dielectric characteristics of a used oil sample with a fresh reference sample of the same oil.

Changes caused by water contamination, fuel dilution, metallic particles and oxidation influence the displayed result, helping maintenance personnel identify oil requiring further laboratory analysis or replacement.

  • Hydraulic-system oil-condition monitoring
  • Stern-tube lubricant assessment
  • Compressor and refrigeration-system oil checks
  • Generator-engine lubricant monitoring
  • Investigation of possible water or fuel contamination
  • Routine checks between scheduled laboratory analyses
  • Comparison of oil condition before and after maintenance

Important Operating Notes

  • Always calibrate the instrument using fresh, unused oil of exactly the same type as the oil being tested.
  • A reading indicates a change in overall oil condition but does not identify or quantify individual contaminants.
  • Different oil brands, grades and additive packages can produce different baseline readings.
  • The TMEH 1 is a screening instrument, not a replacement for laboratory oil analysis, viscosity testing or spectrometric wear-metal analysis.
  • Hazardous-area certification is not stated; do not use it in potentially explosive areas without confirming suitability.
