Product overview
The Tokyo Keiki TG‑8000 is a marine gyrocompass system designed to provide accurate true-heading data to a vessel’s bridge and connected navigation equipment.
The system consists primarily of a TG‑8000 master compass and a corresponding control/interface unit. It was widely installed aboard IMO-regulated commercial vessels and remains important in the marine repair, spare-parts and retrofit market.

Operating principle
The master compass uses a rapidly rotating gyroscope whose axis stabilizes relative to true north. The control unit processes the gyro signal and applies corrections for the vessel’s latitude, speed and movement.
The corrected true-heading information is then distributed to the vessel’s navigation and steering systems.
