Product Overview
The Yokogawa ROTAMASS Supreme is a high-accuracy Coriolis flowmeter designed for demanding liquid and gas measurement applications.
It directly measures mass flow, fluid density and temperature without relying on pressure or temperature compensation. The transmitter can also calculate volume flow, reference density, concentration and individual component flow.
Its robust dual-tube sensor is designed to reduce the influence of external vibration, piping stress and process-pressure changes. Versions are available for cryogenic liquids, high-temperature fluids, fuel oil, chemicals, gases and abrasive media.
Working Principle
The meter’s measuring tubes are vibrated at their natural frequency. When fluid passes through the vibrating tubes, Coriolis forces create a phase difference between the inlet and outlet sections.
This phase difference is proportional to mass flow. The tube vibration frequency provides density measurement, while an integrated temperature sensor measures the process temperature.
Since there are no moving measuring components, mechanical wear is substantially lower than with turbine or positive-displacement meters.

Available Sizes and Flow Capacity
| Model | Typical connection | Nominal flow | Maximum flow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supreme 34 | DN15/½ inch | 3 t/h | 5 t/h |
| Supreme 36 | DN25/1 inch | 10 t/h | 17 t/h |
| Supreme 38 | DN40/1½ inch | 32 t/h | 50 t/h |
| Supreme 39 | DN80/3 inch | 100 t/h | 170 t/h |
The nominal figures are based on water at 20°C and approximately 1 bar pressure loss. Actual sizing must consider fluid density, viscosity, temperature, pressure and permitted pressure loss.
Measurement Performance
| Measurement | Essential transmitter | Ultimate transmitter |
